Woman arrested after crash in Nelson County

NELSON COUNTY, VA -

25-year-old Samantha Tryee- Vest of Schuyler sits behind bars tonight for her involvement in a single-car crash Saturday night according to Virginia State Police.

Police say she was heading eastbound on Route 6 in a 1991 Ford Taurus when she ran off the right side of the road and up an embankment.

Police say as someone from the fire department approached her, she pulled out a handgun and pointed it at them.

Tryee- Vest has been charged with 1st offense DUI, reckless handling of a firearm, brandishing a firearm, and possession of brass knuckles.

The incident is still under investigation.

    ROANOKE (WSLS) -Virginia game department officials say they found three new cases of chronic wasting disease in Virginia in white tailed deer during the 2014 hunting season.One deer in Shenandoah County and another two in Frederick County have tested positive for the neurological disease.The department says it plans to change the boundary of the current disease containment area for the upcoming hunting season to include Shenandoah, Frederick, Warren and Clarke Counties.
